The main house sleeps up to 20 guests in nine bedrooms.

For larger groups, the Stables Flat can also be booked, providing accommodation for up to six additional guests, increasing the maximum capacity to 26 guests.

Yes. Somerset Manor is an excellent choice for families with children. The extensive grounds, treehouse, football pitch, games room and seasonal outdoor swimming pool provide entertainment for a wide range of ages. If you’re travelling with babies or young children, please let us know when booking and we’ll be happy to advise on the facilities available.

Somerset Manor is a historic Georgian country house and, as with many period properties, there are steps and changes in level both inside and outside the building. Guests with reduced mobility are very welcome, but we recommend discussing your group’s individual requirements with our team before booking.

Yes, it’s an excellent choice, with plenty of space for meetings, team building and break out groups. The facilities are excellent for bringing your whole team together under one roof. There are also plenty of opportunities for downtime in relaxing surroundings and facilities to use for leisure time.

Yes, Somerset Manor is available for mature hen and stag groups, but please contact us in advance of booking to discuss your group, age range and plans for your stay.

You can book Somerset Manor by contacting The Big House Co. We’ll confirm availability, answer any questions and guide you to the website for our online booking process. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive your booking confirmation and receipt of payment.

A deposit of one-third of the total house hire cost is required to secure your booking. We will confirm your booking is confirmed once the deposit has been received.

The remaining balance is due 12 weeks before your arrival date. We send reminders and payment is possible either via the guest portal, or direct with our office.

Yes. A refundable cautionary deposit (for damage) of £1500 is required before your stay. This is normally payable three weeks before arrival and is returned after departure once the house is cleaned, subject to the booking terms and no damage or additional charges.

Yes. Payments can be made by bank transfer or by most major debit and credit cards. American Express is not accepted.

The cancellation policy is set out in our terms and conditions. Please get in touch and we will send you a copy, or alternatively view online on the website. We recommend taking our holiday cancellation insurance.

Yes. Viewings may be possible by prior arrangement, subject to availability and existing bookings. Please contact The Big House Co and we’ll be happy to discuss arranging a suitable time.

Somerset Manor is located in the Somerset countryside about 4 miles from Taunton and is straightforward to reach by car. We recommend following the directions provided rather than relying solely on satellite navigation, as this will help ensure you arrive at the correct entrance.

Taunton station is just 4 miles away. It has direct trains to London Paddington (1hr 40 mins)

Arrival is normally from 4pm and departure time is 10am weekdays or 4pm on Sundays. Please contact The Big House Co if you need to discuss alternative arrangements.

Yes. Somerset Manor has ample private parking within the grounds for guests staying at the property. Parking is exclusively for guests during their stay, making it easy for larger groups arriving in several vehicles.

It’s not possible to have deliveries ahead of your arrival as there will be no one available to take them in. Please arrange for a supermarket delivery to arrive after check-in.

Somerset Manor is well equipped for self-catering holidays. Bed linen, towels and some household essentials are provided. Bring your food, drinks, toiletries, clothing and cot bedding if required. Charcoal is need if you plan to use the charcoal barbecue.

The main house has nine spacious bedrooms sleeping up to 20 guests. Many can be arranged as super king-size doubles or twin beds. The optional Stables Flat provides two additional bedrooms sleeping up to six guests, bringing the maximum capacity to 26 guests.

Somerset Manor is exceptionally well equipped for self-catering groups. The main kitchen features an electric Aga, induction hob, two eye-level ovens, a central island and comfortable bar stools. There is also a pantry, breakfast kitchen and butler’s kitchen, providing plenty of preparation and storage space for larger groups.

Yes. The elegant dining room seats up to 26 guests, allowing everyone to dine together.

Yes. Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own toiletries and cot bedding if appropriate.

Yes. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and access details are provided on arrival.

Yes. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (small extra charge). Please make sure your dogs don’t go upstairs, in bedrooms or on furniture. Please also ensure you pick up after them, in the garden.

Yes. We can recommend experienced private chefs, or you may use your own insured caterer.

Yes. The Big House Co can recommend trusted local activity providers for your group.

Yes. Free-standing decorations are welcome, but nothing should be attached to walls or paintwork in case of damage to the property.

Yes. A Denon sound system and Bluetooth speaker are available. Please keep outdoor noise to a considerate level, especially after midnight. If you wish to play loud music later, please do so in the house with windows closed.

Please observe the no smoking policy indoors, no fireworks or sky lanterns, supervise children around the pool, and follow the house information provided on arrival.

No. Somerset Manor does not have a hot tub. It offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, football pitch, games room, media room, karaoke bar and gym. If a hot tub is important to you please contact Victoria or Beverley for suggestions on other houses.

Yes. Somerset Manor has a heated outdoor swimming pool available from Easter until the end of September.

Yes. There is a double-height games room with table tennis and darts. There is also a media room, karaoke bar and gym.

Before leaving Somerset House please wash and put away any used crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment, empty all rubbish and recycling into the appropriate bins, and leave the house in a tidy condition. Furniture should be returned to its original position if it has been moved during your stay, and all windows and doors should be closed and locked before departure.

We understand that occasional accidents can happen when large groups are staying together. If anything is damaged or stops working during your stay, please let the owner know as soon as possible.

Reporting problems promptly may enable repairs to be arranged quickly, helping to avoid inconvenience for your group. Depending on the nature of the damage, the cost of repair or replacement may be deducted from your cautionary deposit
