 About us

The team at the Big House Co possess many years’ of experience in hospitality and pride themselves on the level of service provided and their great attention to detail.

The business was founded in 1996 by Ben and Victoria Fox who were subsequently joined by Peter and Caroline Insall in 2002. Anthony Chapman our General Manager joined us in 2016. Together they own and manage two properties and have been successfully representing other like-minded owners since 1998. There are currently 12 houses offered on our website.

Our aim is to enhance a client’s stay with great service; great local food; luxury five star surroundings; and fun activities around the grounds at our large houses. The Big House Co aims to offer an individual service leaving guests with fantastic and long lasting memories to treasure.

 We are a small team dedicated to the enjoyment of our clients (both home owners and guests). We deliver a very bespoke and proactive service to Home Owners and our guests  which includes answering queries promptly, making great suggestions to enhance their stay and following up diligently on all requests. We offer friendly advice and rely on other owners to follow this ethos too. We can also offer a consultancy service for owners on how to set up their houses for success.

I just wanted to add that I think The Big House Co website is streets ahead of other online booking sites for similar properties. The floor plan with clickable images is particularly impressive, it must involve a fair bit of extra work, but it it is so appreciated by me! For many properties we’ve rented over the years, I’ve found it frustrating that the ‘headline’ photos don’t include ALL the rooms, and that there is usually no floor plan. Which then entails going back to the owners/managers to glean further information. More hassle for me and for them! When I rent a property for my family, I want to know what ALL the rooms look like, and what the configuration is, so that I can plan! We would like to increase our portfolio to only 20 big houses over the next 3 years. We feel this would give our clients more scope to stay in different locations and enjoy the unique benefits each house has to offer, all safe in the knowledge that the Big House Co standards are in place.

  • We deal with all the hassle of securing bookings, deposits and payments and pay you at the beginning of each month for the bookings that month

  • We can ‘manage’ all aspects from catering to activities and entertainment unless you wish to do these yourself.
