Yes. Alongside Tatham House, The Big House Co manages Tone Dale House in Somerset, as well as further large group houses in the Cotswolds and Dorset. The houses sleep between 16 and 32 guests, so groups can choose the property that best fits their numbers and location.

Booking & Payment
Booking Tatham House is simple. Contact The Big House Co by telephone or email to check availability and discuss your preferred dates. Once you’ve chosen your stay, we’ll guide you through the booking process and confirm everything in writing. Your booking is secured once we receive your completed booking form and the required deposit.
Prices start from £4400 for a 2 night weekend, varying by season and length of stay. Contact The Big House Co for a tailored quote based on your dates.
No – Tatham House can be booked by smaller groups too. The price is based on the property not the group size.
The deposit is one third of the house hire, payable when you make your booking. If your booking is made within 12 weeks of your arrival date, the full balance is payable at the time of booking instead of the deposit.
The remaining balance is due 12 weeks before your arrival. Your booking confirmation will clearly show all payment dates.
Yes. Tatham House requires a £1,000 cautionary (damage) deposit, payable 4 weeks before arrival. It is refunded after departure, subject to the booking terms regarding damage.
Yes. Payments can be made by bank transfer, debit card or credit card. American Express (Amex) is not accepted.
Please notify The Big House Co in writing as soon as possible if you need to cancel. We will always try to re-let the property, and we strongly recommend taking out personal cancellation insurance. Please refer to the Booking Terms and Conditions for full details.

Before You Arrive
Once your booking is confirmed, The Big House Co will send you all the information you need before your arrival, including booking confirmation, arrival information, directions, payment reminders bedroom configuration requests and the house managers contact details.
Detailed directions are provided before your arrival. Tatham House is in the Somerset countryside near Taunton, approximately 4 miles from Taunton railway station.
Arrival is normally from 4.00pm. Departure is usually by 10.00am Monday to Friday and 4.00pm on Sundays. Please contact The Big House Co if you need to discuss alternative arrangements.
Yes. Tatham House has ample private parking for guests, making it easy for larger groups arriving in several vehicles.
Taunton station is just 4 miles away. It has direct train to London Paddington (1hr 40mins) and Birmingham and beyond.
Yes. Supermarkets deliver to Tatham House, but deliveries should be arranged after your arrival time as there is no one available to accept deliveries beforehand.
Bring your food, drinks, toiletries, clothing and cot bedding if required. Bed linen, towels, pool/hot tub towels and a starter pack of household essentials are provided. Charcoal is needed if you plan to use the charcoal barbecue.
Tatham House has 10 luxurious en-suite bedrooms sleeping up to 22 guests. Many beds are zip-and-link and can be arranged as super king-size doubles or twins. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor and eight are on the first floor.
During Your Stay
Tatham House has a spacious, well-equipped kitchen with everything needed to cater for up to 22 guests, together with an elegant dining room where everyone can enjoy meals together.
Yes. The dining table seats your whole group, making shared meals a memorable part of your stay.
Yes. Bed linen, bath towels and pool/hot tub towels are provided for every guest.
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout Tatham House.
Yes. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome, please let us know in advance so we can talk through the property’s pet policy. There is a charge of £15 per dog/per night.
Yes. We can recommend experienced private chefs and caterers who regularly work at Tatham House. If you prefer to find your own, please just ensure that we have their public liability certificate before your stay.
Yes. Popular options include yoga, spa treatments, cocktail making, wine tasting and a range of outdoor activities.
Yes. Decorations are welcome if they are free standing. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Yes. Please be considerate and keep outdoor music to a reasonable level, particularly later in the evening, when sound can travel quite far.
Guests are asked to respect the property, supervise children around the pool and hot tub, and follow the house information provided on arrival.

No unfortunately not. But there are some great pubs just a short drive away.
Not at the moment, our insurance doesn’t allow it. There are local charging points in Taunton.

Yes. Tatham House has a heated indoor swimming pool available all year round. It is the only Big House Co property with both an indoor pool and a hot tub.
Yes. There is a dedicated games room on the lower ground floor, complementing the cinema room, pool and tennis court.
Yes. Beautiful gardens with level lawns, great for games and to provide plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy.
Yes. Outdoor seating and a charcoal barbecue are provided. Please bring your own charcoal.
Yes. There are two ground floor en-suite bedrooms, with the remaining eight bedrooms on the first floor.
No, the fireplaces at Tatham House are only ornamental.

Departure & After Your Stay
Before you leave Tatham House, we simply ask that you leave the property in a tidy condition. Please ensure all personal belongings are taken home with you, place rubbish and recycling in the appropriate bins where instructed, wash and put away any used crockery and kitchen equipment, and close all windows and doors before you depart. Our housekeeping team will take care of the full clean after your stay, so you can relax and enjoy your final morning together.
We understand that accidents can occasionally happen. If anything is damaged during your stay, please let The Big House Co know as soon as possible. Reporting any damage promptly allows us to arrange repairs or replacements quickly and helps ensure the house is ready for the next guests. Where appropriate, the cost of repairs or replacements may be deducted from your cautionary deposit in accordance with the booking terms and conditions.
