A ranch? In Norfolk? Think more Mexican hacienda meets country house and you get the playfulness of Norfolk Barns. If you’re looking for luxury group accommodation with a twist, this is the place for you.
Set in beautiful countryside, next to a strawberry farm, Norfolk Barns is an eight bedroom single storey barn style property, designed around a central courtyard. It’s a very popular hen do house with lots of quirky features and ideal for large group holidays in Norfolk with plenty of activities available locally.
The living room has vaulted ceilings and a river rock fireplace with a great selection of squishy sofas and deep armchairs. There are floor to ceiling folding picture windows opening out onto the patio, which truly connects the living space with the outside. The country kitchen has all the amenities and equipment you need to prepare some delicious meals for a big birthday celebration, perhaps. Or, opt for a local chef from our recommended list.
The bedrooms are arranged along two and a half sides of the property with glazed corridors connecting everything internally. There are eight eclectically designed bedrooms and six high spec bathrooms in total.
Five rooms have either king-size or super king double beds, two further bedrooms have zip and link beds so can be either twins or double, and the bunk house bedroom has two sets of bunk beds sleeping 4 people, A total of 18 guests can sleep in comfort. Click here for the house floor plan.
The dining area has space enough for groups of up to 50 (please contact us for numbers over 18), there’s also room here for some after dinner dancing. The seating area has large sofas beside the log fire, or in the summer, open up the french doors to the sunny courtyard and hear the sound of the water trickling over the fountain.
Garden and hot tub
The pretty 4 acre garden gives you plenty of room to roam, especially if you have children in your group who want to burn off some energy there’s space for games. In the evening, with a nearby fire pit for toasting marshmallows, sit and enjoy the peace and quiet as the sun slowly sets. The courtyard garden is an adults delight, sheltered and serene, with the large covered hot tub to enjoy and an outdoor table tennis for entertainment.
During your stay
Nearby you will find activities and days out to suit everyone. There are trout and coarse fishing lakes in Narborough, and Go Ape and Extreme Adventure Parks near Swaffham (15 mins). A rare breeds farm near Downham Market is great for younger families. Swaffham Golf club is a mature woodland course that welcomes non-members. You have the Sandringham Estate on your doorstep and many historic houses that are open to the public. Swaffham has a Saturday market with bric-a brac stalls, fresh fish and meat and local produce and if you are keen on leisurely boating, take a trip on the famous Norfolk Broads. For the foodies amongst you, Downham Market and the surrounding area are packed full of fabulous places to eat and drink.
