Widcombe Grange stands in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Blackdown Hills in Somerset. With 22 acres of gardens, lakes and woodland to call your own, you really can create your fairy tale wedding.  It is an ideal setting to hold a festival style wedding, with space to set up tipees and have your guests seated around on straw bales, or choose a more classical marquee for a more elegant feel to your day.

The Ceremony

Your wedding ceremony can be held outside in the gazebo (up to 180 guests), on the small lake at the front of the house, with your guests all around you. Humanist ceremonies can be held anywhere within the grounds.

If the weather isn’t kind, or during the winter months we bring you inside.  Our beautifully converted Coach House with stone walls and original beams can hold up to 150 or for a more intimate ceremony, choose the cosy living room inside the house for up to 30 guests.

The Party

 

At Widcombe Grange you can let your imagination run free, go festival style, have trestles and tipees or elegantly formal – it really is up to you.

You can party into the night in the Coach House, with its inbuilt lighting options – go pretty fairy lights or funky disco.

The Arrangements

At the Big House Co, we aim to make your country house wedding individual to you.

We can provide any advice you may need all the way through the planning process, for example with your entertainment, flowers, cakes and fun activities for you and your guests to enjoy during your stay.

We can help to arrange marquee or tipee hire, priced according to size and to include tables, chairs and lighting. You are welcome to make your own arrangements too – we have lists of tried and tested Suppliers.  Your chosen Caterer will provide whatever style of food you love – classically formal, hog roasts, sharing platters, barbeques – your wish is our command! Don’t forget

You may like to pass part of the accommodation costs onto your guests  It is up to you how much you would like your guests to pay but as a guide, 3 nights at £136.50 per person will reduce your costs by £3000.
